Therapy can offer a safe and supportive environment to find perspective, heal wounds, explore relationships, and solve problems related to areas such as:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is the most widely-researched and evidence-based form of therapy available today. In more than one thousand studies, CBT has been shown to be effective in treating a wide range of psychiatric disorders and psychological problems. In contrast to other forms of psychotherapy, cognitive therapy is focused on the present. This form of therapy is practical and problem-solving oriented.

Depression

Occasionally feeling down or “blue” is a normal part of life. That said, if you can’t get yourself out of bed in the morning, have prolonged feelings of despair or emptiness, or if you’ve lost enjoyment in life, then this may be a signal of a more serious issue. Depression, which can occur acutely or chronically, can have significant adverse effects on your relationships, work or school life, sleeping and eating habits, as well as general well-being.

Anxiety

Some level of anxiety and stress is a normal part of everyday life. Everyone experiences anxiety from time to time; in fact, some levels of stress can even help produce positive adaptive behaviors. Stress is an inherent response that was necessary for the survival of our ancient ancestors. When anxiety interferes with your daily life by impairing your social, occupational, and daily function, it may be time to seek help from the best therapists for anxiety.

Anger

No one has ever gotten in trouble for simply feeling anger. It is how anger is dealt with that can cause problems. Anger is sometimes an appropriate response, but how you channel and manage that anger is critical. Left unchecked, mismanaged anger has the potential for substantial risk, perhaps more than any other emotion. Mismanaged anger can alienate us from people, lead us to do things that we regret, and in some instances, it can lead to aggression and violence.

Perfectionism

For perfectionists, life is an endless report card on accomplishments or looks. Perfectionism is a fast track to unhappiness, and it is often accompanied by depression as well as eating disorders. While those in the grip of perfectionism desire success, they are usually most focused on avoiding failure. This gives perfectionists a negative orientation, which is what makes perfectionism so toxic. Luckily, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness therapy can be extremely helpful to perfectionists.

OCD

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder can include include obsessions, compulsions or both. OCD obsessions are repeated, persistent and unwanted urges or images that cause distress or anxiety. You might try to get rid of them by performing a compulsion or ritual. These obsessions typically intrude when you’re trying to think of or do other things.

Grief

Grief is a natural part of the human experience. Most everyone has lost a loved one, a friend, or a beloved pet. There is no set period where grief will take hold and then disappear. Some people find themselves recovering from grief within a few days. Others spend years never truly overcoming their loss.
