I’m intrigued by the stories we tell about our own lives—and how these stories can keep us trapped in patterns that no longer serve us. I help clients explore these patterns, identify meaningful goals, build tools for resilience and growth, and shift their narratives. I work with clients navigating a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and trauma, including medical trauma and chronic illness. Supporting clients through major life transitions, including starting college, career change, relocating, and divorce, is one focus of mine; another is helping clients navigate the difficulties of a creative career. I have worked as a parental mental health coach, and I enjoy working with both new parents and would-be parents facing family-building decisions around IVF, surrogacy, and adoption, as well as those dealing with parental ambivalence—the often-difficult decision whether to even try to have children.
I use a variety of modalities, including Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Narrative Therapy, to help clients open up the range of possibilities they imagine for themselves. I offer a compassionate, judgment-free space, with room for humor, where you and I can collaborate to work toward real, positive change in your life.
As the oldest of seven—and now a parent to two small children—I’ve been interested in family dynamics and sibling relationships for a long time. My background includes a PhD in English Literature, and my academic work focused on how pregnancy and abortion are represented in literature and film. This work informs my practice, especially around reproductive justice, identity, and the emotional complexity of major life changes. I am currently a graduate student at NYU pursuing my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling and Wellness.
When I’m not at work, you’ll find me swimming, doing Iyengar yoga, playing bar trivia (sometimes it’s nice to have right and wrong answers), and exploring new restaurants.
