Sophie was born and raised in Manhattan, New York. After earning her Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Sophie went on to earn a Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nyack College where she was trained to counsel through a multicultural and holistic perspective that encompasses ones biological, psychological, sociological, and spiritual needs.
Sophie has experience providing individual and group therapy to adults, children, and families. Her areas of specialization include grief & loss, depression, anxiety, interpersonal relationships, and conflict resolution. She is trained in several modalities including but not limited to Person-Centered Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. Sophie believes that for successful therapy, a safe and supportive client-therapist relationship is necessary. It’s through this environment that change occurs. She is passionate about helping others process their emotions, gain insight, and strengthen their coping skills.
Other areas of interest include Mindfulness-Based practices and discussing nuances of being 2nd-generation Asian American.
