Alyssa has received a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology and is currently completing her Masters of Science in Education (MSEd) at Fordham University in Mental Health Counseling. Through her work as a mental health technician at Westchester Behavioral Health Center, she learned the importance of lending a kind and listening ear to those who feel unheard, which ultimately led her to pursue a career in counseling.
Alyssa aims to create a collaborative therapeutic alliance between her and her clients where they feel supported and cared for no matter their background or identity. She utilizes a person-centered and cognitive-behavioral approach and strongly believes in tailoring therapy to each unique individual she works with through an integrative approach.
Alyssa strives to help clients meet their goals by creating a warm, welcoming, and non-judgmental therapeutic environment where clients can actively work towards personal growth and healing. She has experience in helping individuals who are experiencing anxiety and depression. In addition, she has an interest in treating young adults, those going through life transitions, as well as those experiencing stressors related to work and school.
In her free time, Alyssa enjoys spending time with her friends, family and exploring the great outdoors with her dog, Thor.
