We are all innately resilient and carry within us a complex, ever-changing story shaped by our unique backgrounds. My passion for counseling stems from a deep interest in these narratives- specifically, how we contextualize our identity, our sense of belonging, and the profound shift that happens when we finally learn to advocate for ourselves. Within that developing story, it is easy to get lost in routines or thought patterns that no longer serve you. That is where the work begins.
Born and raised in NYC to parents who immigrated from the Dominican Republic, I understand how difficult it can be to navigate between different cultures, all while forming your own blueprint. I work from an integrative and multicultural perspective, understanding that there is no “one size fits all” approach to the human experience. By looking at both the internal and external systems at play in your life and how we interpret them, we can work together to find resources and reach goals that are authentic and aligned with who you are.
To achieve this, I prioritize safety and trust, as that is at the core of any healthy relationship. I provide a warm, empathetic space where you can feel heard, seen, and understood. I like to think of therapy as a “sandbox” – a dedicated time where you can safely test out new ideas and narratives, ultimately enhancing your story into one that serves you. Throughout this process, I aim to empower, gently challenge, and root for you.
I am currently completing my M.A. in Mental Health Counseling at the City College of New York (CCNY). To maintain my own balance, I prioritize practices that help me recharge – whether that is through vinyasa or yin yoga, a karaoke session (the perfect excuse to belt out a Linkin Park song), or getting lost in my Nintendo Switch, where I’ll most likely be playing “Slay the Spire”.
