Therapist

I am driven by holistic wellness and combining western, evidence based treatments with preventative eastern care practices. I believe that our mind and body connection is an integral part of our wellbeing, and strive to ensure that they are working together, and not against each other.

My practice lies at the intersection of person-centered, existential, strengths-based and acceptance and commitment therapy. I believe that each person is unique and has a story to tell; because of this, I utilize components of various orientations to treat each client, as every person has different needs that deserve to be met. Within this integrative approach, I bring my warm and compassionate energy, genuine curiosity and non judgmental presence to each session. I am a strong believer in the essential nature of the therapeutic relationship, and view our alliance as a collaboration to work together to help you reach your greatest potential.

As a queer woman, I look forward to serving clients across the gender, racial and sexuality spectrum and approach each client with cultural humility, respect and interest in their intersecting identities. My work is often beneficial to those navigating identity exploration, relationships, love and sex barriers, perfectionism and self-worth.

I received my MSEd in Mental Health Counseling from Fordham Graduate School of Education, and a BA in Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies, with minors in English and Psychology from Barnard College. I am also a certified meditation teacher through Three Jewels’s 200-hour meditation teacher training, and am inspired by Tibetan Buddhist dharma and wisdom. I believe that meditation, mindfulness and movement are powerful tools to improve one’s mental health, and incorporate these modalities into my practice for those who are interested.

When I’m not in session, I am likely taking a yoga or meditation class, reading, writing, or spending time in Prospect Park.

We cannot choose our pain, but we can choose our suffering. I look forward to supporting and empowering you to become the person you want to be.
